The Canadian Federal Skilled Worker program has become one of the more popular programs with foreign nationals seeking to immigrate to Canada. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) made drastic changes to the program earlier this year, which launched on May 4, 2013. CIC will be accepting 5,000 applications for processing up until April 30, 2014. There are currently twenty-four occupations which are eligible for the program. CIC will only be accepting 300 applications under each of these occupations. These caps do not however apply to those with a valid offer of arranged employment or those applying under the PhD stream.
Of the twenty-four eligible occupations, three are now full and no more applications under those occupations will be accepted. For a complete list of eligible occupations you can visit CIC’s website at:
To date the following occupations are closed:
1) Financial and investment analysts
2) Computer engineers (except software engineers and designer)
3) Computer programmers and interactive media developers
The next occupation which appears to be closing soon is Engineering Managers.
Of the 5,000 available application spots, 2,095 have been filled. If you would like more information about the program or your eligibility you can contact us at:
